Advocates for Youth is honored to have stood alongside nearly 200 other social justice organizations calling for the dismantlement of the special registry known as NSEERS. Today, the Department of Homeland Security published a regulation in the Federal Register ending the dormant registry. Advocates for Youth applauds the Obama Administration’s decision to rescind NSEERS and calls for continued vigilance against the profiling of individuals or communities based on race, nationality, immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity, faith or age. Advocates for Youth will continue to work in partnership with young people and their adult allies across the globe to advocate against escalating political rhetoric and misguided policies that divide our communities.
