In January of 1977, I had an abortion. I was single and I could not afford to raise a child, nor was I emotionally ready for that responsibility.

As it turned out, my pregnancy was ectopic and had I not had access in California to reasonably priced health care and the option of abortion. I would have died. I was less than 12 weeks pregnant but the Fallopian tube had burst and I nearly died, even though, I had good care for the time.
I have never had a moment of regret about my initial decision. I am truly frightened that women’s rights are being seriously compromised.

I am 1 in 3.
