I feel the urgent need to share my story considering what the Republican party is trying to do to a woman's right to choose what happens to her body.

At the time I got pregnant, I had been using the pill for over 5 years.

I was lucky, I was in California when at 39, I became pregnant on the pill while homeless and addicted.

In January of 1977, I had an abortion.

1971, pre-Roe v Wade, Freshman, UC Berkeley. Pregnant 18-yr-old.

I didn't even know I was pregnant till I was five months along.
