Advocates for Youth mourns the passing of Representative Elijah E. Cummings, Maryland Congressman and long time champion of young people’s reproductive and sexual health and rights. Throughout his career, Rep. Cummings spoke out for sex education, contraceptive access, and the right to safe and legal abortion. Most recently, in May, we were honored to launch a package of bills to protect sex education and confidential youth health services with Rep. Cummings.  His loss will be sorely felt by young people, in Congress, in Maryland, and in the movement for reproductive health, rights, and justice.
