On June 10-11, 2015 in Washington D.C. Advocates for Youth, the American Psychological Association, and the National Coalition of STD Directors, with support from ETR and DASH brought together all DASH 1308 funded State Education Agencies for a two-day institute. The SEA Institute provided professional development workshops and roundtable discussions for implementing 1308 required activities including: PD practices, policy, exemplary sexual health education (ESHE), sexual health services (SHS) and safe and supportive environments (SSE). Partners had a great time, connecting, learning, and sharing with one another. To view highlights of the institute, including workshops presentations and materials please see below.

During the SEA Institute several SEA partners shared promising practices posters that they developed and are implementing in order to achieve 1308 programmatic activities in ESHE, SHS, SSE and POLICY. Highlights included a Guidelines Tool for policy, youth- centered focus groups to gather information on sexual health needs, developing a cadre of TA and PD providers, developing professional learning communities and student-led approaches for safe schools.
