Speaker Event: Reaching LGBTQ Youth
Join us for a conversation with Louie Ortiz-Fonseca & Lincoln Mondy of Advocates for Youth and Juancarlos Soto of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England & the New Haven LGBTQ Youth Task Force around reaching LGBTQ youth to address public health issues, tackle HIV/AIDs stigma, and advance LGBTQ rights. Louie & Lincoln are the creators of the web series Kikis with Louie, a YouTube series featuring honest, deep conversations about the most challenging issues facing queer youth: relationships, sexuality, health, culture, and more. They are activists and award-winning campaign creators. Juancarlos is a local activist and artist, represents PPSNE in the New Haven LGBTQ Task Force, runs the Black & Brown Queer Camp in Connecticut, and is one of the 2019 recipients of the Dorothy Award for LGBTQ activists.

Join SSAC, ODIME + LGBTQ Resources, and the Alexandria: Getting to Zero program in celebrating National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Week (NYHAAD) 2019. We will be having tables on education around HIV prevention, free pizza, and free STI and HIV testing, courtesy of the Getting to Zero program. Together, we can #EndtheStigma and #DecriminalizeHIV

Event title and description: Join the H.A.U.S of Q.R.OW.N.S. as they celebrate NYHAAD through education and awareness. Join the group for celebrating and learning with music, snacks, informational games and condoms on the terrace of the dinning hall, Kearny. Towards the end of the event, we will be releasing balloons in the name of awareness and hope for a better future.
