When I went in to the office they had to take a sonogram and that lady asked if I wanted to see it because she was obligated to by law - which I think is pretty crappy. It was a very hard decision, but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I made the right decision.


As I look at my now four and a half year old healthy full term son, and his two-year-old sister, I am so grateful for the doctor and nurses who were willing to see the bigger picture. And so grateful to have had the choice.

Ten Tips for Parents of a Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, or Transgender Child

Engage with your child. Your gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender (GLBT) child requires and deserves the same level of care, respect, information, and support as non-GLBT children. Ask questions, listen, empathize, share and just be there for your child.
Go back to school. Get the facts about sexual orientation and gender identity. Learn new language and the correct terminology to communicate effectively about sexual orientation and gender identity.
