YWOC for Reproductive Justice Collective (YWOC4RJ)

The YWOC for Reproductive Justice Collective, a project of Advocates for Youth, is a collective of 14-24 year old activists working towards ensuring reproductive freedom for all people. Advocates for Youth will develop the YWOC for Reproductive Justice Collective at the local and national level to decrease sexual health disparities in communities of color, advocate for the inclusion of young women of color in creating solutions to address the impact of reproductive oppression, and empower a new generation of Reproductive Justice activists within the progressive movement. We are accepting interested YWOC4RJ activists on a rolling basis to grow and engage young women of color as issues impacting young women of color is elevated in the media and through our work. Young women of color who are committed to reproductive justice, want to grow their leadership skills, and connect with other young women of color across the country are encouraged to apply for the Young Women of Color for Reproductive Justice Leadership Council here.

Young Women of Color for Reproductive Justice Leadership Council

The Young Women of Color for Reproductive Justice Leadership Council is a group of 14-24 year old young women of color activists who are working to educate, empower, and fight back against issues impacting their community within a reproductive justice scope. We seek to develop the leadership of these young women of color and mobilize them in solidarity with each other to create a society free from all forms of reproductive oppression. The Leadership Council serves as the leadership team for the YWOC4RJ Collective. YWOC is currently made up of 13 womxn from across the country organizing to decrease sexual health disparities in communities of color, advocate for the inclusion of young women of color in creating solutions to address the impact of reproductive oppression, and empower a new generation of Reproductive Justice activists.

 

“Through community organizing, culture shift and policy work, this campaign will uplift the work, voices, and expertise of young women of color organizing to end all forms of reproductive oppression, end sexual health disparities in communities of color, and build power to address and eliminate reproductive oppression.. This campaign will create a pipeline of progressive leaders in the reproductive justice movement, build the capacity, power and presence of young women of color across the progressive landscape, and re-frame the conversation around reproductive justice to center the needs and perspectives of young women of color.”
