Amee Wurzburg is the Program Coordinator for Health and Social Equity, where she provides technical assistance to local education agencies on sexual health education and sexual health services. Prior to joining Advocates, Amee spent three years as Program Manager of a sexual violence prevention peer education program at UNC-Chapel Hill and a year supporting student leadership for a public health and anthropology program that traveled to India, South Africa, and Brazil. She also has over two years of experience working in India and East Africa on issues related to rights violations, youth sexual health, HIV/AIDS, and LGBTQ health and rights. Amee is especially interested in how people’s experiences with stigma and discrimination impact their access to healthcare. She received her MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her BA in History from Barnard College of Columbia University.
