I had an abortion 2 years ago. I was lucky to detect it very early on and even more lucky to live in a state (NY) where I was able to easily make an appointment at my local Planned Parenthood. Because I caught it so early, I was able to have a medical abortion.

I took one pill at the clinic and one at home the next day. It was an unpleasant afternoon, and I felt the physical effects for a few weeks afterwards, but I have always felt good about my decision. My then boyfriend, now fiance, is going back to school in the fall to finish his bachelor’s degree. It will be a big financial burden. If we had a baby right now, I doubt he would be able to further his education and career in this way.
